Delhi youth threatens Purnia MP Pappu Yadav by posing as Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, arrested

The accused, Mahesh Pandey, who lives in Delhi, got Purnia MP Pappu Yadav’s mobile number through Google and first sent a “Hi” message on WhatsApp, followed by a threatening call.

The Bihar Police on Saturday arrested the accused from Delhi, who confessed to his crime during interrogation and said he had no connection with any gang. The police have recovered the mobile phone and SIM card used in the threat, which was in the name of the accused’s sister-in-law.

Pappu Yadav had recently met Bollywood actor Salman Khan. He made a statement on the Baba Siddiqui murder case, in which he claimed that if he was given the authority, he could “reform” the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in 24 hours.

After this threat, Pappu Yadav lodged a case at the Haat police station in Purnia. Purnia SP Kartikeya Sharma revealed that the accused Mahesh Pandey, the son of Krishna Kumar Pandey, has been arrested from Delhi. He has confessed to his crime. The police have seized the mobile and SIM card used in the threat.

According to the police, the accused has no connection with any gang. He has previously worked with many prominent leaders and has also worked in the canteen of the Ministry of Defense.

After Pappu Yadav’s statement to “reform” the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Mahesh Pandey planned to threaten. He prepared the entire conspiracy after getting information from the media. According to the police, the accused’s sister-in-law lives in the UAE. Mahesh got a SIM card issued in her name while in the UAE and used it in her WhatsApp account upon returning to India. Technical investigation revealed that the accused was using WhatsApp from the UAE number. The police have seized the mobile and SIM card and further investigation is on. According to the SP, more revelations are likely in this case.

In a press release, the police said that for the past few days, there were reports on social media and national media that Pappu Yadav had received threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Following this information, the police registered an FIR and started an investigation. During the investigation, it was revealed that the threat was given by Mahesh Pandey, who confessed his crime during interrogation.
