The Maharashtra cabinet expansion ceremony took place in Nagpur just a day before the opening of the Winter Session. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Dy CMs Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar were present for the ceremony.
The Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion ceremony in Nagpur on Sunday (December 15) saw 39 MLAs of the Mahayuti taking ministerial oaths. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Dy CMs Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar were present at the ceremony. Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the ministerial oaths. MLAs who took oath were from BJP, Shiv Sena as well as from NPC.

BJP camp sounded upset even outside Maharashtra. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that Maharashtra was headed in the right direction under the Mahayuti government.
In Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections 2024 held in the month of November, Mahayuti secured a landslide victory against Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Mahayuti won 230 out of 288 seats in the Maharashtra assembly. BJP emerged as the last party with 132 votes. Shiv Sena(Shinde bagged 57 seats while NCP(Ajit Pawar) secured victory on 41 seats.
