Elon Musk’s India visit: Tesla CEO to visit India this year after talks with PM Modi

New Delhi: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has announced plans to visit India this year after talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on technology and innovation issues. Musk called it an “honor” and said he is excited to visit India.

Elon Musk wrote on his social media platform X, “It was an honor to talk to Prime Minister Modi. I am excited to visit India this year.”

Prime Minister Modi and Musk have previously met in Washington, DC, where they discussed issues like space, mobility, technology, and innovation. PM Modi had also informed about India’s “minimum government, maximum governance” policy at that time.

PM Modi said, “Many important issues were discussed with Elon Musk, including immense possibilities of cooperation in technology and innovation. India is committed to further strengthening its relations with the US in these areas.”

PM Modi also shared glimpses of his meeting with Musk’s children and wrote, “It was also a pleasure to meet Elon Musk’s family and discuss various topics with them.”

Amidst this conversation, reports have also emerged that Tesla may soon enter the Indian market. Also, talks are going on between India and the US on a bilateral trade agreement.

This week, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met top officials of Musk’s company, Starlink, in Delhi. They discussed in detail the company’s investment in India and technical platform.

Piyush Goyal wrote on X:

“Meeting with Starlink Vice President Chad Gibbs and Senior Director Ryan Goodnight. During this, their advanced technology, existing partnerships, and future investment plans in India were discussed.”
