Delhi CM Atishi Booked, Police Register Offense for Model Code of Conduct Violation

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been booked by Delhi Police for breach of the Model Code of Conduct. ANI reported that Delhi Police registered an offense under section 223 (a) of BNS. She faces accusations of use of government vehicles for political purposes.

Delhi Assembly elections are just weeks away and the Model Code of Conduct is in place. Voting for Delhi Elections is set to take place on February 5.

Media reports are saying that a resident of Kalkaji named KS Duggal has filed a separate complaint at the Govindpuri police station following which a return officer has asked police to take action against South-East Divisional Executive Engineer Sanjay Kumar.

Currently, AAP has an almost total grip on power in the 70-seat Delhi Legislative Assembly. AAP has 58 seats, and BJP has 7.
