“Three crew members killed as Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashes in Gujarat’s Porbandar,” Gujarat Police told news agency PTI.

Three crew members of an Indian Coast Guard helicopter died after their Advanced Light helicopter crashed during a routine operation in Gujarat’s Porbandar on Sunday.

According to reports, the crew members were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Porbandar for emergency medical care following the accident. Despite medical teams’ efforts, three deaths were confirmed.

“Three crew members killed as Indian Coast Guard helicopter crashes in Gujarat’s Porbandar,” Gujarat Police told news agency PTI.

According to Porbandar SP Bhagirathsinh Jadeja, the incident took place at 12.10 PM.

A video of the crash has surfaced online, showing thick black fumes emanating from the crash site as firefighters work on the scene, attempting to quench the fire.

This incident adds to a series of crashes involving ALH helicopters, which have experienced multiple crashes in recent years due to both technical issues and operational challenges. Researchers have been deployed to the crash site to determine the cause of the accident.

The Indian Coast Guard and local officials are coordinating rescue and recovery efforts while securing the area. Further updates will be supplied as more information becomes available.
