Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion Today: 30 ministers likely to take oath in Nagpur

The crucial Home Ministry, which Shiv Sena allegedly had its eyes on, is expected to remain with Chief Minister Fadnavis.

Nearly three weeks after the results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections were announced, the state’s Cabinet expansion is set to take place on Sunday, December 15, at 4 PM in Nagpur. The winter session of the Maharashtra Assembly is scheduled to commence on Monday.

According to reports, the state’s Governor, PC Radhakrishnan, has been informed about the Cabinet expansion, and preparations for the ceremony have commenced.

Following the landslide victory of the Mahayuti alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister on December 5. Along with him, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde took oaths as Deputy Chief Ministers.

Regarding today’s oath-taking ceremony, no official information has been released so far regarding the number of MLAs who will be inducted into the Cabinet. However, media reports speculate that 20 BJP MLAs, 11 Shiv Sena MLAs, and 9 NPC MLAs will take the oath as Ministers.

The crucial Home Ministry, which Shiv Sena allegedly had its eyes on, is expected to remain with Chief Minister Fadnavis.

Many names are circulating on social media as potential Cabinet inductees, including Nitesh Rane, Shivendra Raje Bhosale, Chandrakant Patil, Pankaj Bhoyar, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Girish Mahajan, Jaykumar Rawal, Pankaja Munde, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Meghna Bordikar, and Ganesh Naik.
