20 women and children were buried under the mound while digging soil in Mohanpur town of Kasganj. Police and villagers reached the spot and started rescue work. Four women have been reported dead so far. Others have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
A tragic accident took place early in the morning in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh. Four women died after being buried under a mound of soil in Mohanpur town here, while more than two dozen women and children were buried under the soil. Rescue work was started immediately. Police and administration officials reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The tunnel was so deep that a JCB had to be called to rescue the women and children buried under it. The women and children rescued from inside have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
The accident happened here
This accident happened in Mohanpur town between Rampur village and Kataur village at around 7 am on Tuesday. It is said that the women and children of Rampur village had come here to collect soil. At that time, the mound of soil suddenly fell. About 20 women and children got buried under the soil. After the accident, there was a lot of screaming on the spot.
The mound was very hollow
It is said that the mound of soil was very hollow. When the women and girls were digging the soil, it fell on them. Due to the great depth, everyone got buried deep in the soil. The rescue team removed the soil with the help of JCB. One by one, all the women and girls were taken out. They have been sent to the district hospital for treatment, where the doctor declared four women, including a girl, dead.

1- Rambeti (32) wife of Dan Pal resident Rampur
2- Prem Devi (35) wife of Ganga Prasad resident Rampur
3- Saraswati (33) wife of Raghuveer resident Rampur
4- Pinky (12) daughter of Manpal resident Rampur
Administrative officials reached the spot
As soon as the information about the accident was received, District Magistrate Medha Rupam, SP Aparna Rajat Kaushik, MLA Hariom Verma, and BJP District President KP Singh Solanki reached the spot. The District Magistrate took information about the incident from the villagers.
CM Yogi gave these instructions to the officials
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of this accident. He has expressed condolences to the victim’s families. Along with this, the officials have been instructed to immediately take the injured to the hospital and get them proper treatment.
