Dhaka: The US on Saturday issued a new travel advisory amid ongoing political instability and communal violence in Bangladesh. This advisory warns of ‘Level 3: Reconsider travel’ regarding travel to the country with some minor modifications.
However, for certain areas, especially the Chittagong Hill Tracts (which includes Khagrachhari, Rangamati, and Bandarban), a strict warning of ‘Level 4: Do not travel’ has been given. The reason for this is communal violence, terrorism, crime, and security risks.
