Mumbai: Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) celebrated International Women’s Day with fervor and reiterated its commitment to gender equality, empowerment, and inclusion.
The event began with a welcome address by Manisha Jha, President, of the Konkan Railway Women’s Cultural and Social Service Association (KRWC & SSA). She emphasized the important role women play in shaping the family, workplace, and society.
Santosh Kumar Jha, Chairman and Managing Director, of Konkan Railway also addressed the gathering on the occasion. He underlined the important role women play in the success of the organization and said that KRCL is committed to developing an inclusive workplace and providing equal opportunities for women.
Dr. Meeran Chaddha Borwankar, former IPS officer and former Director General of Police, in Maharashtra, delivered the keynote address at the event. She shared her experiences in law enforcement and discussed the importance of women moving forward in leadership roles. She called upon women to realize their potential, break social stereotypes, and advocate for their rights.
Further enriching the discussion on women’s health issues, Dr. Deepa Kala, Gynecologist & Obstetrician & Former Professor (Terna Medical College) highlighted the important aspects of women’s health such as reproductive care, preventive health services, and the importance of self-care.
