International Women's Day 2025: PM Modi pays tribute to Nari Shakti, reiterates government's commitment

“We pay tribute to our Nari Shakti on #WomensDay! Our government has always been working for the empowerment of women, which can be seen in our various schemes and programs. Today, as per my promise, my social media profiles will be managed by women who are making their mark in various fields,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to ‘Nari Shakti’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day and reiterated his government’s commitment towards women empowerment. He stressed that various schemes and programs being run by the government are dedicated to empowering women.

Prime Minister Modi also reiterated that on this special day, women achievers in various fields will handle his social media accounts.

PM Modi’s tweet:

“We salute our Nari Shakti on #WomensDay! Our Government has always worked towards the empowerment of women, which is reflected in our schemes and programs. Today, as per my promise, my social media profiles will be handled by women who are making their mark in various fields,” PM Modi wrote on Twitter.

This is not the first time that the Prime Minister’s social media accounts have been dedicated to women achievers.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day in 2020 too, PM Modi had handed over his social media accounts to seven women achievers, allowing them to share their inspirational stories on a global platform.
