India Women vs New Zealand Women: ODI series in Ahmedabad

The India Women vs New Zealand Women ODI series is going to be held in Ahmedabad later this month. India wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh will not play in the upcoming series against New Zealand as she is going to take her class 12 board exams. Richa, 21, has been a part of the Indian team since 2020 when she was only 16 years old.

Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the 16-member squad for the three-match ODI series to be held in Ahmedabad on October 24, 27 and 29. Her captaincy has been questioned after the India Women vs New Zealand Women’s match from the group stage of the T20 World Cup recently. In this tournament, India had to face defeat against New Zealand in their very first match, which proved to be a big setback for their campaign.

Fast bowling all-rounders Sayali Sathghare and Saima Thakor, leg-spinner Priya Mishra, and middle-order batter Tejal Hasabnis have been included in the ODI squad for the first time for the India Women vs New Zealand Women series.

Leg-spinner Asha Sobhana was not available for selection due to injury, while all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar has been rested, the BCCI said.
