“Hindus were targeted” – Pallavi’s allegation

Pallavi claimed that the attackers targeted them because they were Hindus. “Three-four people came and attacked us. I said – kill me too, you have killed my husband. One of them said – ‘I will not kill you, go and tell Modi.’”

Pallavi demanded that the government bring her husband’s body back to Shivamogga as soon as possible, as it would be difficult to carry the body without an airlift.

Karnataka government’s response
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah strongly condemned the terror attack and wrote on X:

“The attack on Kannada citizens is very unfortunate. I held an emergency meeting with the Chief Secretary and senior officials and reviewed the situation.”

He assured that the government stands with the victim’s family and all possible help will be provided.

The family had taken a Shikara ride and were staying in a houseboat a day before the attack.
