Lucknow Hotel Bomb Threat: Lucknow’s Taj Hotel received a bomb threat via email on Monday, before which 10 hotels in the city had also received similar threats. According to police sources’ report, the email sent to the Taj Hotel located in the Hazratganj area warned of a possible bomb blast on the premises.
On Sunday (October 27), 10 hotels in Lucknow received similar bomb threats, following which the bomb squad conducted a thorough search. However, after a thorough search of the premises, all the threats were found to be baseless. The hotels that received bomb threats on Sunday included Marriott, Saraca, Piccadilly, Comfort Vista, Fortune, Lemon Tree, Clarks Avadh, Casa, Dayal Gateway, and Sylvette.
The email sent to the hotels threatened that if the ransom demand of $55,000 (Rs 4,624,288) was not met, there would be an explosion. The bomb threat email read, “Bombs have been hidden in black bags in your hotel premises. I want $55,000, or else I will detonate the explosives and blood will spill everywhere. Any attempt to defuse the bombs will make them explode.”
The authorities have once again deployed bomb squads at the Taj Hotel to conduct a thorough security and inspection of the hotel. Investigation into the source of the email is ongoing.
