When a stampede-like situation arose at Prayagraj Junction, entry of passengers was banned. Due to heavy crowd, all the gates of the junction had to be closed at 10.30 pm on Monday night. There was chaos at Prayagraj Junction for 30 minutes.
The crowd of devotees returning after bathing in Sangam on the city side of Prayagraj Junction suddenly increased after 10 pm. When a stampede-like situation arose at 10.30 pm, the railway administration stopped the entry of devotees to the junction to avoid any untoward incident.
Due to this, people standing on the road started making noise. The devotees present at the passenger shelter of the junction started being seated in the special train. Only after this, the situation could become normal. During this, passengers were not allowed to enter the junction for about 30 minutes.
Due to the heavy crowd of devotees, there was an atmosphere of chaos at Prayagraj Junction for a long time. To control the situation, the police and railway administration took precautions and diverted the devotees towards Khusro Bagh.
A message was also sent to Khusro Bagh that no passenger should be allowed to come out from there for some time. During this time, announcements were made continuously outside the junction and at Khusro Bagh that passengers should be patient.
Trains were sent from platforms one to five as the crowd increased
In a short while they will be taken to the train going to their destination. At the same time, as the crowd increased, half a dozen trains were sent from platforms one to five towards Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Kanpur, Manikpur route.

This cleared a lot ofthe crowd. After this, the passenger shelter of Prayagraj Junction was vacated within just half an hour. After the shelter was vacated, devotees were allowed to go to the station from Khusro Bagh. RPF and railway staff queued up the passengers and took them to the station, due to which traffic became smooth again at night.
