Mira-Bhayandaar Crime: Married Woman Arrested For Abducting 3-Month-Old Nephew From Vasai To Start New Life With Lover; Infant Rescued from Bihar.

Nabi Ullah Choudhary stated that his sister-in-law (brother’s wife)- Kitabbunisha had abducted his 3-month-old baby boy from their residence in the Naleshwar Nagar area of Vasai under the pretext of taking him out for a stroll at 2 pm on 18, February 2025. The family was left devastated after the breast-fed baby went missing.

Mira-Bhayandaar: The crime detection unit attached to the Mandvi police station has arrested a married woman who allegedly abducted the 3-month-old baby boy of her sister-in-law from Vasai last month.

In his statement to the complainant- Nabi Ullah Choudhary stated that his sister-in-law (brother’s wife)- Kitabbunisha had abducted his 3-month-old baby boy from their residence in the Naleshwar Nagar area of Vasai under the pretext of taking him out for a stroll at 2 pm on 18, February 2025. The family was left devastated after the breast-fed baby went missing.

Sensing the seriousness of the case, senior police inspector – Sanjay Hazare roped in personnel from the crime detection unit to conduct investigations track the woman, and rescue the infant. A team led by API Sawant on the virtue of electronic surveillance learned about the woman’s suspected presence in a remote village in the Nalanda district of Bihar.

The team immediately left for Bihar and searched almost every household in -Suryakhak, Mirnagar, and Sarmera- all remote villages located on the Bihar-Jharkhand border. The team ultimately apprehended Kitabbunisha and safely rescued the infant from her clutches.

Investigations revealed that Kitabbunisha was having an affair with a man in Sarmera village by hiding the fact that she was already married and had three children.

“With false claims that the child was born due to their physical relationship, the accused woman would make WhatsApp video calls to her paramour when she was alone with the child. She wanted to abandon her hubby and children to start a new life with the man who was unaware of her marital status.” said an official who is privy to the investigations.

After obtaining a transit remand from a local court in Nalanda, the woman was brought to the city. While the infant was reunited with his parents, an offense under section 137(2) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita for kidnapping from lawful guardianship has been registered against the woman who has been remanded to custody.
