Gradual relaxations are possible, but no immediate plans
According to reports, senior police officials have said that there is no decision yet to lift the curfew in the affected areas. However, the authorities have urged residents of vulnerable areas to cooperate with the restrictions and avoid unnecessary movement
Tight security in place to prevent further incidents
Although the immediate violence has been brought under control, tension remains in parts of the city. Strong police presence remains in place, especially in Zones 3, 4 and 5, where the clashes were most intense. Residents of these areas have been advised to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary and gatherings of more than five people are prohibited.
The administration is urging to maintain peace and assuring that adequate security arrangements have been made to prevent further disturbances. The authorities have also stressed that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to incite violence.
Additionally, the local police will review the situation from time to time before taking any decision regarding lifting the curfew. Until then, security forces are on high alert to ensure that peace is fully restored across the city.
