Pune has recently seen a spike in lethal leopard attacks with rising human encroachment on animal habitats. One such frightening video has gone viral on social media.
In the video, a leopard is seen walking slowly and then, after spotting a dog, attacking it in the courtyard of a house while the owner remains engrossed in his phone lying down on a cot next to his pet.
As the leopard attacked the dog, the owner quickly got up, narrowly avoiding certain death. He screamed and woke up the entire family and the neighbors. By that time, the leopard had escaped.

Meanwhile, residents have asked the Forest Department to take immediate action as such incidents have become very common. They want officials to set up traps and take other steps to manage the leopard population and stop future attacks.
