The police investigation revealed that Muskaan Rastogi forged a doctor’s prescription to obtain sleeping pills used to kill her husband, former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput
Meerut: Shocking details continue to emerge in the Meerut Murder case in which former merchant navy officer Saurabh Rajput was allegedly murdered by his wife Muskaan Rastogi and her boyfriend Sahil Shukla. The police investigation revealed that Rastogi forged a doctor’s prescription to obtain sleeping pills used to kill her husband, reported NDTV.
Rastogi had purchased the tablets from one Usha Medical Store and claimed the media report quoted officials. The store was attacked on Sunday.
“We are searching this place and checking all sale records to gather details about the drug that was purchased by the accused. We are trying to ascertain if the medicine warranted a prescription before purchase or if it could be sold over the counter,” said Meerut drug inspector Piyush Sharma as reported by NDTV. Officials are scrutinizing the past two years’ records of the story.
Meanwhile, the owner of the store Amit Joshi told the media house that he was informed by the police that Rastogi purchased the medicine from his shop. “She had shown us the prescription on her mobile phone and we handed over the pills based on that. We do not sell such medicines without a prescription,” he added.

Rajput was murdered on March 4 and the matter emerged on March 18.
Notably, after allegedly killing her husband, Muskaan went to Himachal Pradesh with Shukla for a holiday. Rastogi also admitted to her mother when in Himachal Pradesh. Many videos of Rastogi enjoying with Shukla surfaced online. In one of the videos, Rastogi was seen celebrating Holi with her lover in Manali within 11 days of killing her husband.
In the video, Shukla appeared intoxicated as he made some gestures with his right hand. Music could be heard in the background and other people could be seen in the background. As per the police, the due went to hill stations – Shimla, Kasaiili, and Manali – after murdering the former merchant navy officer.

On Friday, another shocking video of Rastogi and Shukla emerged, and both were seen celebrating the latter’s birthday. In a 12-second clip that has emerged, Sahil was seen eating a piece of cake from Muskan’s hand and kissing her.

It was also disclosed that she had instructed her cab driver to order a cake on March 11 for Sahil’s birthday. According to reports, the cab driver—who approached the police and informed them about the night the cake was ordered—told officials that the duo referred to each other as Parvati and Shankar, respectively.

The whole matter surfaced when Rajput’s brother visited his rented home in Indranagar-2 in Brahmapuri. He found her sister-in-law with an unidentified man (Sahil Shukla), and Rahul questioned her about his brother’s whereabouts. Her unclear reactions and a strange smell emitting from the house raised suspicion.
